get shifty

a shifter kart build project from new jersey. follow the build and share your thoughts!

super-friendly-aviator asked: Are you actually building the track that you have designed or is it just a small project? And if you would like any advice on the build I do Karting now and have a fair bit of knowledge :)

i’ll be doing something very similar to the designs. not tarmac though, just dirt. for now at least =]

if i need any help or suggestions i’ll post publicly to the blog, so feel free to keep up and help out. i’ll be updating it later this week after the frame is sand blasted and primer’d.

another potential track. really dig this one.

design for the kart track. the big oval is already there. i might make a couple different designs.
the track has corners from monaco, great britain, melbourne, and some other amazing formula 1 circuits, plus a few of my own.

here’s a side shot with a view of the motor mount.
i’ll be putting a Honda 250cc RR motor on it. photos of that to come later.

so here’s the first post. this is the cassis i’m starting out with.
it’s a custom rigid frame, side motor mount.
at some point this week i’ll be sandblasting all the rust off and just prepping it for the build.
